WORN BELT SYMPTOMS Rev. 10-30-01
Symptom DESCRIPTION

CRACKED OR SPLIT		 Check for cracks or splits on the bottomor sides of the belt as it flexes. A cracked and / or split can fail anytime.

GLAZED		 A belt withslick, hard sides doesn't function properly. This can cause a radiator or other component to overheat

GREASY		 Grease build-up causes a belt to soften, rot and fail.

PEELING		 When the undersurface of a belt peels, it becomes uneven, causing rough operation and failure.

On one side, this gauge will measure conventional V-Belt up to 28/32" top width and 100" effective length. Will also give metric dimensions. On the other side the gauge will measure all multi- ribbed belts to 115" effective length. This is the only gauge that will measure multi-ribbed belts to 115". This is the only gauge that will measure any brand belt including OEM and Dayco replacement part number.
